Brabbling in English

Apparently, tonight while I was sleeping, I was brabbling English. I can't remember what I was dreaming though.
I woke up Bertus with my sillyness.
"What in Gods name is she saying?" he aked himself, still half asleep. "Oh she's speeking English, so I suppose she's not trying to tell me something," he thought, while he turned around to try to fall asleep again.

Website

Screenshot of my finished but not yet online website. I worked on it now and then during the past four months or so, and finished the last bits tonight! There is a portfolio with my work on it, links to my shop and stockists, contact information etc.

Let me know what you think about the design!

Excavating

This is where I work. For an outsider I may seem odd and maybe ridiculous to just remove a pile of sand from some leftovers of 17th century structures...
Most archaeologists are crazy anyway.

Yet is keeps surprising me what you CAN still find after 300 years. We found parts of rooms and staircases that were perfectly conserved. A town like Antwerp must be full of subterranian rooms everywhere.

The whole becomes more...

To feel that your jewelry starts to become a line, instead of nothing more than some silly try outs, is a really great expierience. I found out about that today. I can only wonder with great anxiety about what is yet to come...

"The whole becomes more than the sum of its individual parts" [says my honey].

Digging up the past

'Do you still love me when I wear bright red nail polish dear?'
'Oh, I didn't even really notice!' said the man while he continued with getting himself dirty by feeding the horses and cleening the stables.

This is what I wrote two weeks ago. What a crontradiction am I! One moment I can spend hours with making myself up, polishing nails, choosing the right colour of eye shadow, walking around on red high heeled sandals. And in between design and make jewelry.

An other day, I am working in the mudd "like a real man" untill I stop feeling my body. Digging up the past. Untill everything hurts, my back, my arms, my legs.

I like being dirty.

I'm punk and preppy. Aren't most of us like that?

New toy!

The girl with the red fingernails

I'm sobbing over the articles on late medieval pottery I collected in the library this afternoon. I like medieval pottery. It's beautiful. It's simple. It's stylish. It even looks very modern. It's great to work with. Food cooked in it tastes so much better. But I think I've seen enough archaeological pen drawings of pottery finds just for now.

'Tomorrow I see my boy again', whispers the girl with the red fingernails [me].
[It's been ages since I put on nail polish the last time!]
'Do you still love me when I wear bright red nail polish dear?'
