INSPIRATION :: Photo frames

How lovely are these? I came across these lovely ca. 1900 handmade photo frames on ebay here, here and here. They are made with a cardboad backing, in which sewing pins with a glass head are fixed. Around the pins threads are wrapped in a certain pattern.

I totally forgot strolling around ebay could be inspiring at all.
